On December 22, 2024, Pastor Josh Massaro will lead a service at Middletown Baptist Church that focuses on the theme of God's gifts, with a particular emphasis on the gift of salvation. This special Sunday service is a part of the church's December celebrations, where the congregation is invited to reflect on the many ways God blesses His people. In this preview, Pastor Josh outlines how the service will delve into the spiritual gifts bestowed upon believers, which are vital for personal growth and community service.
The pastor will guide the church through Romans chapter 12, where the Apostle Paul discusses various spiritual gifts and their roles within the body of Christ. This exploration is crucial as it highlights that every believer has a unique function, and through these gifts, they can contribute meaningfully to the church and the world. Pastor Josh emphasizes that these gifts are not given arbitrarily; they are a manifestation of God’s grace, intended to empower us to serve one another and glorify God. The service will encourage members to discover their spiritual gifts and actively seek ways to utilize them in their daily lives, fostering a sense of belonging and purpose.
Additionally, Pastor Josh stresses the importance of giving, aligning with the biblical teaching that it is better to give than to receive. He emphasizes that as believers receive gifts from God, they are called to turn around and serve others with those gifts. This message will resonate deeply during the holiday season, reminding everyone that generosity and service are at the heart of the Christian faith. The service promises to be uplifting and transformative, encouraging attendees to embrace their gifts and recognize the joy of giving back to God and their community.

Pastor Josh
Pastor Josh here.
Pastor Josh
I would like to give you a preview of our Sunday morning service on December 22nd here at Middletown Baptist Church.
Pastor Josh
For the month of December, we've been celebrating the gifts of God.
Pastor Josh
The number one gift that we are excited about is the gift of salvation.
Pastor Josh
But what we're going to be studying for the next two weeks here at Middletown Baptist Church is the idea of God gifting us opportunities to serve within our lives.
Pastor Josh
And so these are seen through the supernatural gifts that God gives us called the spiritual gifts.
Pastor Josh
And we're specifically going to be talking about those gifts seen in Romans chapter 12.
Pastor Josh
We call these the ministering gifts or the service gifts.
Pastor Josh
In Romans chapter 12.
Pastor Josh
It tells us that there is an opportunity for all believers to receive this gift of God.
Pastor Josh
And it says that it's given by God's grace.
Pastor Josh
It's given according to God's will in our life, and we are all part of the body, but we are different in our jobs as believers within that body.
Pastor Josh
And so we're going to be studying this week what it means to have a gift.
Pastor Josh
And then number two, what does it mean for us to have a specific gift and use that within the midst of our Christian life here in the time that God gives us?
Pastor Josh
And so I encourage you to listen to the podcast on Monday morning or you can visit us in person on December 22nd here at 10:30 at our church, or you can follow along on YouTube or Facebook.
Pastor Josh
But we are excited to talk about the gifts that God gives us and also the way that we can give gifts back to him and give gifts to others around us.
Pastor Josh
And so the Bible speaks of it's better to give than receive.
Pastor Josh
And so as God has gifted us these gifts, First Peter, chapter four tells us that we are to turn around and serve other people.
Pastor Josh
This is all about exalting the name of Jesus Christ, furthering the truth of the gospel.
Pastor Josh
So we'd love to see you.
Pastor Josh
We wish you and your family a merry Christmas, and we look forward to continuing to bring forth the truth to you in 2025.
Pastor Josh
God bless you.
Pastor Josh
Have a wonderful weekend.
Pastor Josh
We will see you soon.
